Schubert Launches New Multimedia Newsroom Service

Customizable Online Newsroom Lets B2B Marketers Bolster their Web Presence and SEO with Multimedia Content

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa., January 8, 2010 — Schubert Communications has introduced Newsroom HQ™, a stand-alone online news portal that allows its public relations clients to publish audio, video, photo and text content online without modifying their existing Web site. The Web 2.0, social media-friendly newsroom, which Schubert customizes to take on the look and feel of any company’s corporate Web site, is seamlessly linked to the company’s site, but hosted by Schubert. While clients have complete access to the content management system, Schubert manages and publishes content on the newsroom as part of the public relations program.

“Approximately 75 percent of corporate Web sites don’t have multimedia-capable newsrooms,” said Chris Henneghan, director of Schubert’s PR and social media group. “Newsroom HQ gives marketing managers and business directors the ability to offer multimedia content that media, buyers and prospects can easily download and share via social networks. Best of all, they don’t have to wait for overworked IT departments to schedule content additions or make other changes.”

Because it’s hosted separately from their existing corporate Web site, Newsroom HQ gives clients the flexibility and SEO benefits of Web 2.0 elements that many rigidly formatted corporate Web sites don’t have, such as:

•    RSS Feeds so visitors can subscribe to updates;
•    Tag clouds and search functions;
•    Social media tags;
•    An interactive Calendar of Events;
•    Multimedia galleries to host downloadable images, podcasts, videos, presentations and technical articles;
•    A place to feature and archive news releases and company announcements;
•    An area to showcase noteworthy press coverage for added credibility; and
•    Live blog or Twitter feeds to promote a company’s social media activity.

“Being a brand leader today means offering fresh content, and providing compelling ways for visitors to interact with your Web site,” said Allen Silveri, president of Schubert Communications. “A site with easy-to-find news, media contacts, photos, podcasts, videos and educational materials that are provided in a user friendly way makes a company seem larger, more credible, and more transparent. It also improves the odds that journalists will use a company’s content or be inspired to request interviews with corporate leaders.”
